Any other ideas?

Well, I have some idea. I added Google Docs spreadsheet and share it for everyone. This document has Fielad name column, and columns for localizations. English and Russian columns already filled, all other columns you will filled by youself. If this document will be corrupted by anyone, we unshare it. For working with document you must have google account. Please, remember, this phrases used in program context, pay attention to this fact.

Already added localization columns:

P.S. We will try check proposed translation by all available assets.

Hallo, I modified and corrected all Japanese strings.  Because I'm a Japanese.

Some strings were changed to the general Japanese Windows terms.  Some strings were translated freely.

Dec 14, 2009 at 3:03 PM

Hi, just finished doing the german translations (native speaker)... :)

So hopefully the german version will come soon!? OK to use english versions, but it's always better to use own language +  same as OS.

THX for this VG tool (I had something similar ages ago as an added tool to my graphics card... 3DFX I think... ah, can't remember...) - good work, keep it up!

Dec 14, 2009 at 3:18 PM

Gerraldo, we are happy to hear that!

Thank you for your feedback!

Will try to add localization ASAP.

Thank you for updating and adding lang files.

There is a small problem of  "BackSlash + n" for line change.

It exist as not  "0D 0A" but "5C 6E" in German DLL and Japanese DLL. Therefore, it doesn't work.

Dec 16, 2009 at 4:53 PM

Checking right now.

Can you specify  how to reproduce problem or what strings are bad.

I see all the "\ n"s and it seems to me okay.

Edited Dec 16, 2009 at 7:24 PM

Hi, I don't know programming. And, my English is very poor.
So, I can't say correctly. Please see here.  (Back-Slash is displayed "Yen Mark" in JP environment)

Open DLL by using Hex-Editor.

0x1AE4  5C ==> 0D
0x1AE5  6E ==> 0A
0x1BF8  5C ==> 0D
0x1BF9  6E ==> 0A
0x1CA5  5C ==> 0D
0x1CA6  6E ==> 0A

0x1A00  5C ==> 0D
0x1A01  6E ==> 0A
0x1B07  5C ==> 0D
0x1B08  6E ==> 0A
0x1BA9  5C ==> 0D
0x1B0A  6E ==> 0A

All other DLLs are "0D 0A".

But these are OKey for your environment. It corrected in
Or the cause of the problem might be the environment of JP Win or JP DotNET 3.5 Runtime.
Best Regards,

Dec 16, 2009 at 10:06 PM

I checked german and it was okay.

It seems I got what you are talking about.

Will check tomorrow.

p.s. your english is okay, don't worry ;)

Dec 17, 2009 at 2:16 AM

I did the French translation. Do not hesitate to contact me if the strings are too long.

Thanks for that neat program.

Someone changed Japanese Translation.
The followings contain Japanese Characters. I don't know whether they are correctly displayed on your browser.

1. "タブの編集" to "編集タブ". New one means "The tab for Editing Work" or "The tab with the name Edit,",  not "Editing Work for Contents of Tab".
I returned it to old.

2. "終了" to "出口". New one is used as "Exit Door", never JP Windows Tarm,
And Japanese person never make this mistake. I returned it to old.

3. "休止" to "ハイバネーション" These are same meaning. But, old one is more general.
I checked it. "休止" and "休止状態" is used in JP xp and JP 7. "休止状態" is used in Start Menu of JP 7.
So, I changed it to "休止状態". But, my old "休止" is not wrong.

Best Regards,

Dec 17, 2009 at 9:26 AM

sylvainm, I will add French today. Next, you will check and I can make corrections if needed.

Please, correct me if I am mistaken.

Command_EditTab should be (and it is now in source code) 'タブの編集'

Menu_Exit should be (and it is now in source code) '終了'

Timer_Hibernate should be (and it is now in source code) '休止'

I updated the release.

Please check.

Dec 17, 2009 at 5:44 PM

Hi, Alex

I told about "Localizations Google Doc". Someone changed it.
There is No Problem of JP Source Code. And no problem of current localizations spreadsheet.

However, for "Timer_Hibernate"
On JP Win 7, '休止状態' is more general than '休止'.
I corrected localizations spreadsheet to '休止状態'. But, this is not serious change.
The JP user is never confused, even if it is left as "休止".

Thank you

Dec 18, 2009 at 4:31 PM

Asabukuro, it's no problem with this :)

If all is okay then all is okay.

Spreadshit can be changed by everyone, that is problem.

Thank you for checking the translation and using ME!

Hallo, staff, I want to change the Japanese translations.

Currently Japanese translations for "Start/Stop button" are

Buttons_Start = <value>スタート</value>
Buttons_Stop = <value>ストップ</value>

But, the user's setting of Desktop Property is applied to this panel, I notice it by now.
If user use the larger font than the size I always use, it becomes the character overflows from that button.
Therefore, I change the translations as follows.

Buttons_Start = <value>開始</value>
Buttons_Stop = <value>停止</value>

It's my mistake. My Best Regards,

Dec 22, 2009 at 10:09 AM

We will fix it in next release.

Thanks for pointing this out!

Dec 30, 2009 at 9:28 AM

Hello everybody!

Please, check the latest version and please verify I copied all things correctly ;)

If there are some mistakes, please, mark them in doc or list keys of places with mistakes (i.e. Button_Start, Timer_Hibernate, etc)

Thank you and Happy New Year!

MouseExtender Team

P.S. MareX, please check translation for following items:

  • SystemButtons_RestartTooltip - this is tooltip for button that activates system restart (reboot)
  • Timer_Sleep - this is a text for Hibernate action. Timer will hibernate Windows
  • Timer_Restart - this is a text for Restart(reboot) action. Timer will reboot Windows
  • Tabs_MainTab - I changed it to "Głowna". It seems to fit better to Main than "Karta 1"

Hi Alex,

During the translation I am always using the same phrases that are used in Polish version of Windows as well as Mozilla products which are considered to be well translated pieces of software. That is why:

  • SystemButtons_RestartTooltip - it is OK, English "restart" means "uruchom ponownie" in Polish. This is exactly how "restart" is translated in Polish Windows.
  • Timer_Sleep - English name for that field is "sleep" not "hibernate". Please clarify what you mean. There is a difference between "sleep" and "hibernate" modes in Windows.
  • Timer_Restart - translated correctly.
  • Tabs_MainTab - as you wish - changed to "Główna". However I am not a fan of word-by-word but context translation.

Dec 30, 2009 at 1:26 PM

Hello Alex,

Japanese strings are all Okey, Thank you.

A Happy New Year! Everybody!

Dec 30, 2009 at 4:29 PM

Hi MareX,

I'm not a fan of word-by-word translation, but 'Karta 1' seemed strange to me.

And yes, Timer_Sleep is action that puts Windows into Sleep mode, not Hibernate. My mistake.

Thank you for checking!

Dec 30, 2009 at 4:31 PM

Thank you, Asabukuro, for checking!

Happy New Year to Japan and to you :)

Dec 30, 2009 at 8:53 PM

Hello Alexander,

I checked the French translation and everything if fine except for those 2 strings that where not changed in version

  • Settings_MouseConfigurationInavlid
  • Settings_MouseConfigurationMessage

I changed the phrases because they were too long. They are the same but that is OK and I think this will fit in the field.

Thanks a lot and Happy New Year from Montréal, Québec (Canada)

Dec 31, 2009 at 11:14 AM

Hello Sylvain!

Jan 2, 2010 at 9:44 PM

Good evening!

In next version will be available!

Jan 13, 2010 at 2:44 PM

Hi Alex,

There are 2 issues connected to version

1. There is no "space" between "Enums_MouseButton_Left/Right/Middle" and "Enums_MouseButton_Name" in Polish translation.
So in my case the text is: "Środkowyprzycisk myszy" instead of "Środkowy przycisk myszy".

2. Is it possible to widen setting window? The point is that part of the text "Enums_CheckUpdatesPeriod_xxx" is cut off since Polish equivalents are longer than English.

Jan 25, 2010 at 10:07 AM

Hi Marex, can you, please, create bug Issue on these items?

All the team is busy now on other project, so Issue will help us not to forget to fix this as soon as we get little free time.

Thank you!

I made some language files not included in current release.
Danish, Portuguese, Spanish, Traditional Chinese and Turkish
I took these translations from Google docs. They contain the translations not completed.
These language files are not official.
However, they might be able to be used to check the length of the sentences in your translation.
I attached them to Issue Tracker "Test language files".

Line 64: Error occured, during checking of updated version of the program:\n{0}
These English lines contain "\n".  But I can't see "\n" on my browser.
When I download this sheet and open it. I can see "\n".
It might not be seen according to your environment. However, "\n" exist.

Could we build hear a list of people who help us with localization?
There are 2 goals:
1. Add them to credits/release notes
2. When we need to translate 1 string for all languages, we could just contact the people and get the translation.
So, guys, please leave here your emails:
